Quilting Projects Honoring Veterans

The Famous " Cherry Pit" Quilt Shop

...is a quaint quilt store where you will find many quilting projects. The shop is located in the heart of Sevierville Tennessee just at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains. Jane and her husband, George, started the shop in their basement and as their popularity grew they relocated the shop to where it is today.

They invite young or old, beginner or seasoned quilters to help celebrate their 10th anniversary in their current location at 115 Bruce Street in historic downtown Sevierville Tennessee. You will find the 3,600 square feet of show room space just chucked full of everything from beautiful quilting projects, and wall hangings to a large selection of 100% cotton fabrics from major manufacturers and designers. You will also find a large selection of great quilt kits, all the latest quilting books, and patterns, as well as, all the necessary tools and stuff that goes between the quilt layers. You will be awed just visiting the shop; always the latest in style and fashion for a top of the line experience. It is truly a one stop shop!

The shop offers classes for all of us that love to quilt and for all of us newbie’s that are just getting started. All of the instructors are talented and they create a warm friendly learning environment no matter if you are making a purse, wall hanging, baby gift, or have just join them for a “Super Saturday Quilt”.

How the super Saturday quilt works is you purchase the first $5.00 kit block; take the kit home and complete the block before the next month’s meeting; then show up the next month with your completed block and you will receive the next super Saturday block FREE. When December rolls around you will have enough completed blocks to make your quilt top. What could be any easier than that? Just remember when you aim at nothing, you are sure to hit it!

I personally love to visit the shop because all the staff extend that true southern hospitality and make you feel welcome… this is from a repeat customer!

Quilting Projects from "The Cherry Pit"

quilt of valor This is a beautiful quilting project for a "Quilt of Valor" quilt that 'The Cherry Pit' employees pieced and donated to the "Quilt of Valor Foundation" for Our Wounded Veterans.

You can get on the band wagon and donate a quilt also.... For donating a quilt through our web site you will get a full page write-up on our site. Now what better advertising is that? And FREE!

Here's how to get started. Just click on our QOV Submission Page, and we will contact you showing you how to join our QOV mission to support our veterans. Remember the most frequent remark from a Quilts of Valor recipient is: "We Didn't Know Anyone Cared!" Let's show them WE DO CARE!
