Lone Star Eagle Quilt

Lone Star Eagle Quilt

Motivated by my 4 nephews who made Eagle Scout, I made this Eagle Star Quilt.

Then being reminded of God's word, I embroidered the scripture in Isaiah "They shall mount up with wings as Eagles", under the Eagle Star on the quilt.

So it would fit a king size bed, I made surrounding stars for the border. I did a small stipple around the star to give the trapunto effect. I stitched in the ditch so the diamonds would elevate and come outward.

I loved doing it so much I am now working on my 2nd Eagle Star Quilt. It does take a bit more counting of the triangles in the strips and doing some half triangles. I am so challenged by this and I love it. Can't wait to see what #2 will look like when its done.

I found a similar lone star quilt on the internet that I used to pattern mine after so I can't take full credit for design, but I did design it with the borders, embroidery, etc.

This Eagle Star Quilt honors any "Eagle Scout" which has lived according to the ideals of the Scout Oath as a "straight-arrow and self-reliant man". The quilt provides warmth while self-taught traits provide character.

The Highest Rank for any Boy Scout, is earned by a male teen with good character traits, high morals, and the ultimate respect for self and others.

This achievement is so fitting of God's words... "They shall mount up with wings as Eagles".

Be sure to post quilt #2 so we can it also...
